SUPPORTIVE COUNSELLING:
Individual support is available in our office or in your own home to help deal with issues related to caregiving and coping. Education series for caregivers, family and friends are frequently available covering the various stages of dementia and caregiving.  A special series is also offered for the person with early stage dementia and their support people as well.

EDUCATION:
A wide variety of topics are available designed for Long Term Care Homes, Retirement Homes, Caregivers and the general  public. Group training, research updates, in-services can be tailored for specific requests.  An annual Dementia Education Day is also planned.

AWARENESS:
Presentations are held for the general public and community groups throughout the year and especially in January which is Alzheimer Awareness Month.  Information displays are frequently at community events, libraries, pharmacies and community group meetings.

SUPPORT GROUPS:
Come and join others experiencing the same issues as you are.  Education and support are available to enhance your understanding of dementia, including Alzheimer's disease.  Talking, listening and sharing help ease the stresses that are being faced. There is a group for people newly diagnosed/early stage and an afternoon and evening group for caregivers.
Please call for  meeting days and times.

“SOCIAL TIME” CAREGIVERS' LUNCHEON:
Join us monthly for an informal lunch at a local restaurant. Connect with other caregivers who are also dealing with issues including Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Each person is responsible for their own charges.

RESPITE PROGRAM:
Remember to also care for yourself. Trained health care workers may be available to provide short term friendly companionship  to your family member, allowing for needed relief for caregivers.

WANDERING REGISTRY:
A program developed in partnership with the RCMP.  Registration helps return your family member home safely if they have become lost or disoriented. Small one time fee for identification bracelet and wallet card.
